The lucky festival year! Departure for a new exploration of the world of short films from november 24th to 29th, 2008. International Competition and National Competition: this is the Festival's hub, now enriched by the theme competition on enology, In Corto... Veritas, sponsored by the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico. Québec and the Horn of Africa: this is the itinerary of our around-the-world in 100 shorts, with a few detours to other corners of the globe that for now we're keeping secret. Our voyage to Québec will also be included in the Québec Horizon programme, an important cultural event organised by the Québec Cultural Agency in Italy. This contributes to the 400th anniversary celebration of the founding of the city of Québec. Our incursion into the Horn of Africa will be made in collaboration with the association Le Ultime Carovane. The shortfilm nights programme, such a tremendous success last time, is also planned for this year. And, as always, our Short Film Market continues to give professionals the chance of viewing all material we receive for Festival selection. Last year, thanks to the possibility of using the international mu1tifestival sfte www.shortfilmdepot.com to enter films in the Festival, we received 2,821 entries, from which 84 films were selected for the three Competitions. Encounters, workshops and partying will complete our days and our... nights. See you in Siena for our lucky Festival year!!!
